Paper Plane — World Tour is a game made by one person. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking code. This page explains the little it does store, and why.
Responsible for this game and this data: Paper Plane Media, the Netherlands. Contact: support@paperplaneworldtour.com.
Your player id
The first time you play, the game creates a player id on your device. Your save, your scores and your game statistics are all linked to it. It is not your name, your e-mail, your phone number or any Apple identifier, and we cannot see who you are — but because everything hangs off the same id, it is pseudonymous, not anonymous: what you do in the game can be tied together under that id. You never need an account or a login.
What is stored on your device
Your progress: countries stamped, best times, coins and gems, the plane and trail you chose, your settings, and the players you chose to hide from your boards. That last list never leaves the device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
What is sent to our servers
- Your save. Progress, coins, the items you own, your settings and your player name, stored under your player id with a recovery code, so you can get it back on a new phone.
- Your scores. Player id, name and best time, per board.
- Your coins. Every change to your balance is priced and kept by the server, so progress survives a reinstall and cannot be tampered with.
- Game events. Which screen you opened, which country you flew, how long a run lasted, how many coins it paid. We use these to see where the game is too hard, too slow or broken. The only thing you type that we store is your player name.
Like any internet request, these carry your IP address and device type to the servers that answer them. We do not store them ourselves; our providers keep them briefly in their own logs.
What other players can see
Your player name and your time, on the boards. Nothing else: no country, no id, no profile. The game has no chat and no messages. Choose a name you are happy for strangers to read; if you pick something identifiable, that is your choice. Names are filtered, and any player can hide or report a name they find offensive.
Your recovery code
The 12-character code in Settings is the only key to your save. Anyone who has it can restore your progress, so keep it to yourself and never post it in public. We cannot look it up for you: there is no e-mail or account attached to it.
What is never collected
No name, address, e-mail, phone number, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier (IDFA) or device fingerprint. There is no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK inside the game, and no cookies. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Who processes it for us
Netlify (hosting and the server functions) and Supabase (the database), both in the European Union. Game events are copied from our server to PostHog EU so we can read them as charts; no PostHog code runs in the game and location lookup is switched off there. All three process the data only on our instructions, and keep their own technical logs under their own terms.
Apple handles the App Store and TestFlight, including downloads and any crash report or feedback you choose to send, under Apple’s own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Saves, scores and game events are kept for 24 months, counted from your last flight, and then deleted. Ask sooner and we delete sooner.
Deleting your data
E-mail your recovery code to support@paperplaneworldtour.com and ask us to delete it: we remove the save, the scores and the events behind that player id. There is no delete button inside the game. Deleting the app removes everything held on your device.
Why we are allowed to do this
We process your save, your scores and your coins to give you the game you asked for. We process game events because we have a legitimate interest in knowing whether the game works and is fair; they are never used to profile you or to advertise to you.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about your player id, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of game events. Because everything hangs off an id we cannot connect to a person, we need your recovery code to answer such a request. Write to support@paperplaneworldtour.com. If you think we handled it badly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If the game starts collecting something different, this page changes before it does, and the date at the top changes with it.
